20yo Ryobi Blue Sawzall Repair

So today was the day it finally happened. The 18v blue Ryobi sawzall I bought oh so many years ago has finally let me down. Over twenty years of tough love has taken its toll and the test will now be upon me. Can this saw of mine be repaired? Can I do it? As detailed inside this video, the parts needed and the self-destruction of the failed assembly can be rebuilt. The blue Ryobi sawzall lives again! Engineering my solar for the fall, winter, and future...

So today it is raining and I have some time to investigate my options for solar power optimization. With fall approaching I am in a unique situation where the foliage is still on the trees but the angle of the sun has fallen lower on the horizon creating many hours less of full sun on my panel array. The morning doesn't light them until after 9am and it becomes again shadowed around 3:30pm. First I need to revisit what it is I have and recall the specifications. I was able to find an old Amazon.com listing to retrieve information on size and electrical specifications here: SEC Monocrystalline Efficiency Module 160WATT This is a closeup of the panel specifications (I bought 4 panels) you can click on any of the images in this page to see them larger & Don't worry, any links will open in a new window if you wanted to try any of the cool website tools... I also bought some standard 12 Volt outdoor wire. Here is a link to a current offering of the same company: FIRME...

Moist Spots 2: the Aftermath

As I awoke to a beautiful sunrise I noted a dark gray wall looming in the west and approaching quickly. We had a clipper moving through and it reversed the advance of the sun for several hours. I decided to survey as much of the property as I could climb my way into in silence today allowing the sights and sounds of nature to speak for themselves. I started walking at 3:18 in the video. Hope you enjoy. Tags: #nature #natural #livinmicro #Steve #flood #woods #forest #trail #hiking #trees #pond #stream #creek

Moist Spots: an in-depth view

Did someone request a video about flooding? A fact finding mission from topography maps to IRL walk-through before, during, & after the rains. The entire property is a basin that drains from the road towards the creek but the creek has been banked up to prevent flooding towards the road creating a bowl effect in the center of the place. Towards the last quarter of the video It started another downpour that dropped roughly 1.5-2 inches per hour with a tornado spotted a half mile away and the threat of hail and gusting winds. The sky was a strange yellow so some parts of the walk were a bit interesting as the camera tried to adjust the color for "normal" conditions - but - WOW! how this place flooded!!! The entire center of the property drained from the perimeter down towards the center and the focal point of that collection is roughly 400 feet from my front door... I walked the trails to show the aftermath this morning to show just how deep it gets after the higher ...
